Open until filled Additional Information: Show/Hide - The substitute CPSE/CSE chairperson reports to the Coordinator of Students with Exceptionalities, and the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Personnel and Support Services. The substitute CPSE/CSE chairperson must have a solid knowledge of CPSE/CSE NYS law, guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education services; Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; The ability to interpret an extensive variety of data and deal with several abstract and concrete variables; the ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community; The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
- The substitute CPSE/CSE Chairperson will work with clerical support to schedule, arrange CSE and CPSE meetings; Chairs each CPSE/CSE meeting and makes sure the IEP's are accurately and completely prepared. Communicate with parents, staff, and agencies regarding CSE/CPSE meetings and recommendations. Coordinates CSE/CPSE activities with the State Education Department and participates in impartial hearings as needed. Performs and completes other duties and responsibilities as specifically determined by the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Personnel and Support Services and/or designee.

POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
SUBSTITUTE SPECIAL EDUCATION CPSE/CSE CHAIR
OFFICE OF STUDENTS WITH EXCEPTIONALITIES
POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
QUALIFICATIONS:
New York State certification as a school psychologist, special education teacher, school social worker, speech pathologist;
Two plus years experience as a CPSE/CSE chairperson preferred;

JOB SUMMARY:
Position requires the planning, organization, and implementation of the appropriate instructional program to address the learning needs of the students; to guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their potential in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
