Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary Counselor to join our educational team. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive counseling services to students in a secondary school setting. The ideal candidate will support students’ academic, social, and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. The Secondary Counselor will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administration to promote student well-being and success.

Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive counseling programs that align with the school’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment for all students.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and career planning.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and community resources to support student needs.
- Participate in school meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and mental health.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies or critical incidents.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential or equivalent licensure preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents in a school or counseling setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of developmental psychology and counseling theories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to school counseling.
- Proficient in using technology and counseling software for record-keeping and communication.
