Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and community-focused Optometrist to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Optometrist will provide comprehensive primary eye care services, including diagnosis and management of ocular disease, in a team-based, patient-centered medical home environment serving diverse and underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform comprehensive eye examinations

· Diagnose and manage ocular diseases

· Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic pharmaceuticals

· Educate patients on preventive eye health

· Document care accurately in the electronic health record

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and meet productivity standards

· Collaborate with primary care providers and care teams

Minimum Qualifications

· Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry

· Active and unrestricted Georgia optometry license

· Eligible to prescribe and manage pharmaceutical agents under Georgia law

· Successful completion of National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) examinations

· Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain, if applicable to scope)

· Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

· Experience or willingness to work in a community health/FQHC setting

· Commitment to serving diverse and medically underserved populations

· Ability to meet productivity and quality benchmarks in a value-based care environment

· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)

· Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, credential verification, and drug screening in accordance with organizational policy and HRSA/FQHC requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

· 2+ years of clinical experience

· Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

· Experience treating ocular disease

· Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

· Experience with quality reporting measures (UDS, HEDIS, etc.)
