| Position Summary | We are seeking a
highly motivated laboratory aide who will participate in biological assays performed in the laboratory that will analyze protein and mRNA levels from tissue samples collected from previously performed experiments. The candidate will work in the lab under general supervision to perform total protein content, protein levels of keys targets, RNA extraction, and quantitative PCR. We are also looking for an individual who has experience analyzing mouse behavior in the ‘Open Field Chamber’ and the ‘Elevated Plus Maze’. The research focuses on the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure in mouse offspring and neuroimmune interactions with the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis function. The position requires the collection, compilation and statistical analyses of data, and a excellent organizational skills. Research is conducted in a neuroscience research laboratory on mouse behavior, and the researcher will prepare data, samples, and/or specimens. | Minimum Qualifications | Successful completion of junior or senior year of high school; no previous experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
