Each day, as a Middle School ELA Teacher at Pennfield Schools, you bring energy, focus,

collaborating, adapting lessons, fostering individual growth, and ensuring every student
has the tools they need to succeed. You collaborate with dedicated colleagues,
problem-solve with creativity, and build positive connections with students, families, and
the community. Whether you’re developing lesson plans, celebrating student
achievements, or finding new ways to engage learners, your work strengthens the heart
of our district. As the day winds down, you may be preparing for upcoming lessons,
reviewing student progress data, or reflecting on the moments—big and small—that

● Develop and deliver comprehensive standards-based English Language
Arts lessons that embrace the diversity of student learning styles and
provide students with differentiated instructional experiences.
● Teach and practice transferable literacy skills including reading
comprehension, writing skills, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
● Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication in
both written and oral forms.
● Assess and monitor student progress through various methods including
quizzes, essays, and projects, and use this information to influence
instructional decision making.
● Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support
academic growth.
● Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful learning
environment using experience/training in Restorative Practices and
Trauma-Informed Care to effectively support students.
● Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support
student success.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current
with educational best practices.
● Apply technology proficiently to enhance teaching and promote
meaningful student learning.
● Understand and implement Board of Education Policy, Administrative
Guidelines, and organizational practices to ensure consistency and
compliance.

● Valid teaching certificate for Middle School English Language Arts.
● Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
● Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management
skills.

● Strong personal integrity and professional ethics.
● Compensation: Based on the Teacher Contract and Salary Schedule
● Reports To: Middle School Principal
● Starting Date: August 2025
