Job Description

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Canyon Promotions Print Shop team with production of customized t-shirts, hats, and other logo-branded merchandise through screen printing, embroidery, or folding/packing. 

Responsibilities:

  • Count and receive shipments.
  • Prepare material for screen printing.
  • Clean silk screens and other equipment.
  • Assist with screen printing.
  • Fold or pack material for shipment.
  • Clean up of equipment and production floor as needed.
  • Embroidered apparel trimming and packing
  • Preparing items as part of a functional team.
  • Checking and documenting orders for shipping and receiving.

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Operate press equipment (automatic M&R or manual press), including loading and adjusting screens, press adjustments, putting ink in screens, squeegee selection, test printing, setting flash and dryer temperatures correctly for different inks and products.
  • Operate pallet jack, to transporting small loads for short distances.
  • Operate heat press is a type of machine that utilizes heat in order to apply designs onto various substrates.

Qualifications

  • Must be local (AZ) and available to work over Summer.
  • Must be an excellent team member who is prepared to follow instructions carefully.
  • Ability to work with others to ensure accuracy and speedy task completion.
  • Willingness to learn how to operate screen print machine.
  • Must be willing and able to take direction.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, outgoing, reliable, and willing to work others as part of an energetic team environment.
  • Understanding of accounting principles; how to track and monitor expenses and revenues.
  • Basic understanding of computerized information systems used in financial/accounting applications.
  • Knowledge of necessary clerical and administrative procedures
  • Ability to pay attention to details and correct errors if necessary
  • Proficiency in reconciling data
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite software, especially Excel, can utilize advanced formulas and lookup functions.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Grand Canyon University Mission.

Experience/Education:                                                   

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
