Job Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for all financial and accounting related issues and reporting requirements for all areas under their direction. You will report to the Senior Director.

Primary Tasks:

1.       You will instruct employees on specific tasks, ensuring requests are completed as reported.

2.       Review monthly and annual financial statements for Choctaw Nation entities for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current accounting pronouncements. 

3.       Review year-end financial statements, supporting schedules and all reconciliations on the audit.

4.       Develop professional staff for the purpose of succession planning.

5.       You will develop strategic planning based on best practices

6.       Identify and recommend performance measurements and financial analysis to inform Management about the financial results, stability, and issues on Choctaw Nation entities under their direction.

7.       Review legal and tax related requirements for all activities conducted by Choctaw Nation entities together with the Nation’s Legal Counsel.

8.       Prepare and deliver board level presentations and updates.

9.       Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or 4 years related experience.

Experience of all aspects of accounting and tax

Work and talk with departments throughout the organization at all levels.

Demonstrate in development and completion of projects.

8 years of directly related experience.
