Maintenance Technician – Car Wash
Job Level: Entry-Level
Location: Field-based role supporting all WashU locations across the Chicagoland area (travel required)
Status: Full-Time
Compensation: $45,000–$50,000/year + mileage reimbursement at $0.72 per mile
Travel Requirement: Frequent travel between WashU locations (daily/weekly as needed)

About the Role:
At WashU, a Maintenance Technician is focused on ensuring our equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. Their primary responsibility is to support routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and help minimize downtime so our sites can deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Maintenance Technicians play a key role behind the scenes and should always aim to represent the brand by maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on car wash equipment
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues and escalate as needed
- Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment areas and maintenance spaces
- Monitor equipment performance and report any issues promptly
- Assist with inventory and organization of maintenance supplies and parts
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Key Requirements:
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in maintenance work
- Ability to learn equipment systems and troubleshooting processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual with flexibility for varying schedules
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around equipment
Prior car wash experience is preferred but not required—we provide on-site training to help you succeed.
