Job Description

Position is remote and based at the Ledger - 240 S Main Street, Bentonville, AR. Incumbent should reside within the Arvest 4 State Operational Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Remote work options may be available for residents outside of the 4-state footprint upon further review during the interview process. 

Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as project needs demand.

Senior Director of Core Banking Center of Excellence

 Job Summary

The Senior Director of Core Banking Center of Excellence (CoE) at Arvest leads the strategic success of the Core Banking Platforms by promoting the use, ensuring alignment with business goals, and communicating success metrics across the organization. This role combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership to drive Core Banking adoption and maximize its value. The Senior Director of Core Banking (CoE) acts as the link between business units, product, project and technology platform delivery teams, ensuring solutions align with the capability roadmap. They build and manage teams to support the platform, overseeing Core Banking investments and defining the appropriate business and technology architecture. Additionally, they track performance, evaluate current and future platform capabilities, and maintain close communication with the CoE’s Working Group and Executive Leadership.

Responsibilities

● Drive the prioritization of investments across the Core Banking platforms in alignment with enterprise strategy and at the direction of the CoE’s Working Group.

● Serve as the organization’s Core Banking champion and promote its usage and alignment, when applicable, throughout the company.

● Establish and maintain a strategic capability roadmap for the Core Banking Platforms (e.g., Fiserv, Signature, Thought Machine Vault, TSYS, TS1/2, FIS Trust, etc.) aligned to Enterprise, Product, and Technology strategy.

● Establish meaningful return on investment (ROI) and internal rate of return (IRR) metrics to measure Core Banking investments, tracking on an individual project and ongoing platform Basis.

● Lead the strategic simplification of the Core Banking ecosystem to enhance platform scale and promote the reusability of existing services.

● Act as a strategic advisor on Core Banking platforms; provide guidance to business units and functional areas to ensure alignment with current and future capabilities.

● Partner with Information Security to enable best practices for platform security.

● Own the operational risk and resilience for all Core Banking Platforms, including accountability for ensuring business continuity, disaster recovery planning, and implementing all necessary regulatory compliance updates specific to platform operations.

● Manage the Core Banking platform's annual operating and capital expenditure (OpEx/CapEx) budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic investment priorities.

● Establish best practices for platform enablement, including CI/CD, release management,

sandbox management and usage of common objects.

● Manage vendor relations with Fiserv, FIS and Thought Machine Vault products and services catalog.

● Actively participate in key industry forums, associations, and peer networks to anticipate and identify relevant market, technology, and regulatory trends that could directly influence or benefit the Core Banking Platforms and Arvest's strategic direction.

● Supervise two or more associates. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

● Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policies, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

● Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Experience

● Required: 10 years of relevant experience; experience in the financial services industry, information technology (IT) support or development, financial support functions, or comparable support functions preferred.

● Required: 5 years of previous supervisory and/or management experience.

● Strong business acumen to understand and anticipate business needs and requirements.

● Experience in a broad range of areas, including:

○ Core Banking Platforms (e.g., Fiserv, Signature, Thought Machine Vault, TSYS, TS1/2, FIS Trust, etc.)   

○ Demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans and/or capability roadmaps;

○ Salesforce and its capabilities, or comparable experience with customer relationship and case management platforms;

○ Developing and presenting on platform and/or project return on investment; and

○ Communicating complex operational business problems with product development teams for a clear understanding of outcomes.

● Relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

● Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Credentials

Preferred: Operational Excellence (i.e., Lean Six Sigma, PMP, etc.) or in Banking & Finance (i.e., ABA or FINOS)

Required: Bachelor’s degree

Pay Range: $190505 - $250000 per year
