As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in executing machinery and equipment (M&E) and broader personal property valuation engagements. You will take ownership of critical workstreams, contribute to client interactions, and support the development of junior team members. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen technical expertise while gaining exposure to client-facing responsibilities and project management.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will perform and oversee valuations of a wide range of personal property assets, including manufacturing and warehouse equipment, office furniture and fixtures, computer equipment and software, laboratory and testing equipment, vehicles, tooling, molds and dies, leasehold improvements, and construction-in-progress.

Engagements will span financial reporting, transaction support, tax reporting, and compliance-related matters, including:

  • Purchase price allocation (PPA)

  • Impairment testing

  • Tax and financial reporting

  • Transaction advisory

  • Insolvency and restructuring engagements

  • Insurance replacement cost analyses

You will analyze company-provided information (financial statements, fixed asset registers, invoices, technical specifications, and maintenance records) to develop valuation conclusions using cost, market, and income approaches. You will also conduct industry and market research, participate in (and occasionally lead) site inspections, and contribute to high-quality client deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute machinery & equipment and personal property valuation engagements with increasing independence

  • Lead components of virtual assessments to evaluate asset condition, remaining useful life, and market value

  • Develop and refine valuation models using cost, market, and income approaches in Excel

  • Analyze industry and market data to support assumptions around pricing, depreciation, and obsolescence

  • Prepare and review valuation reports, including methodologies, key assumptions, and conclusions

  • Ensure deliverables comply with applicable standards such as US GAAP, FASB, SEC guidelines, and International Valuation Standards (IVS), as well as Crowe’s internal quality requirements

  • Participate in client discussions, due diligence calls, and presentations, addressing queries and explaining findings

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (audit, tax, corporate finance) to deliver integrated solutions

  • Guide and review the work of junior team members, providing mentorship and feedback

  • Manage assigned workstreams, including timelines, deliverables, and coordination with stakeholders

  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and scoping discussions

Core Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in valuation, advisory, engineering consulting, or related fields

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial), Economics, or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of valuation methodologies (cost, market, and income approaches), particularly for machinery & equipment / personal property

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling) and strong skills in PowerPoint and report writing

  • Familiarity with fixed asset registers, ERP systems, and technical asset data

  • Professional certifications such as ASA, RICS (MRICS/AssocRICS), or equivalent, or progress toward certification, preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and client presentations

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Willingness to travel (as required) for site inspections and client engagements

Core Competencies

  • Client Focus: Delivers high-quality work and builds strong client relationships

  • Analytical Rigor: Applies structured thinking and sound judgment to complex valuation problems

  • Ownership & Accountability: Takes responsibility for deliverables and deadlines

  • Collaboration & Leadership: Works effectively in teams and supports development of junior colleagues

  • Integrity & Quality: Maintains high professional and ethical standards

Why Join Crowe?

  • Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact valuation engagements across diverse industries
