Job Description

Primary Duties:

  • Assure all plant quality systems and practices comply with IATF 16949 and meet customer requirements.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality control systems, procedures, and documentation.
  • Oversee internal and external audits of production processes, equipment, and personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Address customer quality concerns by establishing containment, investigating complaints, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Facilitate problem-solving using formal tools such as 5-Why, Ishikawa Diagrams, and 5P; coach and mentor others in the organization on the effective use of these tools.
  • Manage supplier quality, including raw glass and component performance.
  • Provide leadership, training, development, and performance management for quality personnel.
  • Manage key programs including Safe Launch, New Model Introduction (NMI), and the Ambassador Program.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize and drive efforts that achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Internal PPM, External PPM, and Cost of Quality (COQ).
  • Actively support and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all required quality reports and documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Serve as a key contributor to achieving plant performance goals and budget targets.
  • Communicate promptly with certification bodies when required (e.g., IATF containment status reporting).

 Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years related experience in an automotive manufacturing facility or Tier1 supplier
  • Internal Auditor experience and/or certification
  • Prior experience with Quality Tools: APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

 Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience in glass or plastic injection molding.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience with operational excellence or lean manufacturing initiatives.
