Drama Teacher (Begins Late August 2026)

Job Summary:

Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are currently seeking a dynamic, creative, and experienced Drama teacher to join our progressive faculty, providing instruction to students in grades 6 through 8. Responsibilities will include teaching up to three (3) Improvisation, Acting, and Video Editing courses, serving as a student advisor, leading a community service group, and chaperoning class trips, among other duties.

Required Qualifications:

• B.A. in Performing Arts, Drama or Theater, or a closely related discipline
• At least 3-4 years full-time classroom teaching experience required
• Improvisation training and experience
• Theatre Curriculum Design
• Experienced Director of Theatre
• Video and Editing training and experience
• Demonstrated record of developing one�s own cultural competency and incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in personal practice and curriculum
• Enthusiastic desire and commitment to learn and improve professionally
• Experience in progressive methodologies and curriculum development
• Excellent communication skills, sound judgment
• Ability to collaborate and plan with other teachers who share the same students

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate work in Performing Arts, education, and instructional methods
• Experience with developing drama curriculum that works with this age group
• Interest in extra-curricular involvement with students

Compensation:

Salary Range: Approximately $70,022 - $133,748

Faculty positions are paid on a step-level salary scale, commensurate with background and years of experience. Francis W.
