Provide RN assistance int he Cardiopulmonary department. Duties include conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment review recent test results and correspondence and anticipate necessary services per practice and provider protocol. Confer with physician regarding any incomplete patient tests/ consults or other incomplete orders prior to patient visit. Prepare patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room, taking histories, vital signs, and conducting nursing assessment. Demonstrate competency in administering medications and immunizations, including knowledge of possible contraindications. Conduct and document assessments of patient needs and provide resources for effective self-management. Provide timely communication with patients, make inquiries, execute follow-up tasks, and help to integrate information into care plans. Assist with scheduling tests and treatment, pre-certify patient for hospital care and/ or procedures, and process referrals to other providers. Engage patients, patient's families, and their caregivers in the development, understanding, and monitoring of patient self-management goals that are culturally and contextually appropriate. Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program: Diploma, AAS or BSN, BLS certification, and completion of infectious disease course required. Cardiology experience also required; physician office experience preferred.
