Job Description

The Manager - Plumbing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial plumbing operations while actively supporting and driving sales efforts. This role combines technical leadership, estimation, project oversight, client relationship management, and business development. The Manager - Plumbing ensures projects are delivered safely, timely, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations, while also identifying and securing new plumbing opportunities from existing and prospective customers.

 

 

 

·         Actively pursues commercial plumbing work and submits bids, proposals, and negotiates contracts.

·         Meets department Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and ensures all projects adhere to budget and meet margin targets.

·         Oversees day-to-day commercial plumbing operations, including service work, and large projects.

·         Manages and supports plumbing Forepersons, Installers, and Plumbers to ensure high quality results and productivity.

·         Reviews project plans, specifications, blueprints, and scope of work to ensure constructability and code compliance.

·         Project Manages by Coordinating labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors across multiple projects meeting customer timelines.

·         Ensures departmental compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal plumbing codes, safety regulations, licensing requirements, and environmental regulations.

·         Maintains safety compliance and regularly monitors progress, safety and quality.

·         Resolves technical issues, change orders, and field challenges in collaboration with all stakeholders.

·         Supports billing process by reviewing invoices for accuracy and supporting the timely closing out of projects.

·         Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

·         High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

 

: 

 

·         A minimum of 5 years of commercial plumbing experience.

·         A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.

               


 

·         Illinois Department of Health Plumbing License required

·         City of Chicago Plumbing Contractor License preferred

 

 

 

·         Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices.

·         Proven ability to drive commercial plumbing sales in a construction environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to manage teams and multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and ability to utilize an ERP system.

·         Knowledge of union labor practices and collective bargaining requirements.

This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to visit active construction sites which include walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting of materials or equipment may be required for up to 50 pounds.
