Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Building Principals, the Orchestra Teacher delivers high-quality music instruction to students across multiple grade levels and buildings. This educator fosters a passion for music, develops students' instrumental skills, and creates meaningful performance opportunities while supporting student growth in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging orchestra instruction aligned with district and state standards
• Teach instrumental music (strings) across multiple grade levels and buildings
• Travel between district buildings to provide instruction and support music programming
• Develop students' technical skills, musicality, and appreciation for music
• Prepare students for concerts, performances, and community events
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families
• Maintain accurate records of student participation and achievement
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance-focused classroom environment
• Collaborate with music staff and building teams to support a cohesive K�12 music program
• Promote student engagement and participation in orchestra programs 

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead concerts, performances, and related events
• Assist with instrument inventory, care, and music library organization
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or District Administration 

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio teaching license in Music (K�12 or appropriate licensure)
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field (Master's preferred)
• Strong background in string pedagogy and orchestral instruction
• Experience teaching multiple grade levels preferred
• Ability to travel between district buildings
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Passion for music education and student engagement
