Senior Oracle Business Analyst (Manufacturing – INV, BOM, WIP, Costing)1

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Business Analyst to join our team as a Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Oracle Manufacturing and Supply Chain modules. This role will act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders in Operations/Manufacturing and the IT team, driving requirements definition, process optimization, and system configuration.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle ERP systems—particularly within Discrete Manufacturing—and play a key role in improving operational efficiency, streamlining shop floor processes, and ensuring seamless integration across Inventory, WIP, and Costing modules.
 

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Expertise & Business Analysis

Inventory Management (INV)

  • Configure and support:
    • Item Master organization structure
    • Sub-inventories and locators
    • Lot and serial control
    • Replenishment strategies (Min-Max, Kanban, etc.)
    • Cycle counting and physical inventory processes
  • Ensure accurate inventory tracking and control mechanisms

Bills of Material (BOM)

  • Define and maintain:
    • Product structures and multi-level BOMs
    • Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
    • Alternate and common BOMs
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams for BOM accuracy

Routings & Work in Process (WIP)

  • Design and configure:
    • Routings and standard operations
    • Resource and department setups
  • Manage WIP processes including:
    • Discrete job creation and scheduling
    • Shop floor transactions (move, resource, completion)
    • Job closures and variance analysis

Process Analysis

  • Conduct AS-IS and TO-BE process analysis
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation
  • Recommend best practices aligned with Oracle standards
     

2. Project Delivery & Implementation

Requirements Gathering

  • Lead workshops with stakeholders to gather and document:
    • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
    • Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications

System Configuration

  • Perform hands-on configuration of Oracle modules:
    • Inventory (INV)
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Work in Process (WIP)
    • Costing
  • Ensure alignment with business requirements and best practices

RICEFW Development

  • Prepare MD50 functional design documents for:
    • Reports
    • Interfaces
    • Conversions
    • Extensions
    • Forms
    • Workflows
  • Collaborate with technical teams for development and deployment

Testing & UAT

  • Develop:
    • Test plans and scenarios
    • Test scripts (TE40)
  • Lead:
    • System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Ensure data accuracy, process validation, and issue resolution

Support & Hypercare

  • Provide post-go-live support and stabilization
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate fixes
  • Support period-end close activities (Inventory, WIP, Costing)
  • Train and guide end users
     

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Functional Consultant or Business Analyst
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) 

Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience in Oracle Discrete Manufacturing modules:
    • Inventory (INV)
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Work in Process (WIP)
    • Costing
  • Understanding of end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain processes

Implementation Experience

  • Proven experience in at least two full-cycle Oracle ERP implementations
  • Exposure to rollout, upgrade, or support projects is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Ability to write and interpret SQL queries
  • Understanding of Oracle data models and key tables
  • Familiarity with background workflows and concurrent programs

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
