Job Description

The full-time employee is responsible to the Associate Provost. Under his/her direction, the employee is responsible for recruiting and advising students and course and curriculum input as a member of the full-time faculty. The position also provides leadership in the classroom environment through teaching 18-21 hours per academic year. Must live near a physical SCS location (Corpus Christi or McAllen, TX) or be willing to move to a physical SCS location upon acceptance of the job.

Position Core:

  • Serve as a faculty member teaching eighteen to twenty-one hours per academic year, including undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization;  
  • Provide administrative leadership as the Director of Certificate in Ministry, including the oversight of recruitment, advising, course scheduling, and curriculum development;
  • Build relationships with local churches and associations to improve the admissions funnel for the Certificate program; 
  • Maintain active engagement in the field through ongoing research, scholarship, and, where appropriate, publication;
  • Participate in institutional life, including recruitment initiatives, college and seminary events, and service to local churches and the broader community;
  • Additional duties as assigned.
