Sky Mountain Charter School (SMCS) is a WASC accredited charter school managed by Innovative Education Management (IEM). The school serves students in San Bernardino, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties. Our family of charter schools include South Sutter, Ocean Grove, and Sky Mountain.

Job Summary

The FileMaker Pro Developer is responsible for the design, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of IEM’s custom FileMaker Pro–based Student and School Information System (SIS), supporting IEM and its partner schools. This role collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing database solutions.

The developer works within a multi-user hosted environment and is accountable for system reliability, data integrity, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of application architecture. The position requires strong technical expertise in relational database design, FileMaker Pro development tools, scripting, integrations, and deployment practices.

This position combines technical application development and stakeholder collaboration in support of the organization’s Mission and Guiding Principles.

Required Documents

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; graduate degree a plus
- Experience: Three (3) years direct experience developing relational databases in FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server

Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of relational database architecture, normalization principles, and data modeling.
- Experience with FileMaker scripting, calculations, custom functions, and UI/UX layout design.
- Proficiency in XML, SQL, and data integration methodologies.
- Experience deploying and supporting solutions in FileMaker Server environments.
- Experience integrating third-party plugins and external systems.
- Proficient in both macOS and Windows environments.
