    We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated High School English Teacher to deliver engaging instruction in both traditional high school English courses and dual credit (college-level) English courses. The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree and meet credentialing requirements to teach college-aligned coursework in partnership with institutions such as Ivy Tech Community College.
     

    This position offers the opportunity to help students earn both high school and college credit while developing advanced reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
     



    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach high school English courses (grades 9�12), including dual credit composition and/or literature classes
    • Design and implement rigorous, standards-based lesson plans aligned with both high school and college expectations
    • Prepare students for college-level writing, research, and literary analysis
    • Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
    • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and coursework
    • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and partner college faculty
    • Participate in professional development and ongoing curriculum alignment
    • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and academically challenging classroom environment
       


    Required Qualifications

    • Master's degree in English, Literature, Composition, or a related field
    • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in English or closely related coursework
    • Valid state teaching license (or eligibility) through the Indiana Department of Education
    • Eligibility for dual credit credentialing through a partner college or university
    • Strong knowledge of composition, rhetoric, and literary analysis
       


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience teaching AP, dual credit, or college-level English courses
    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Familiarity with college curriculum standards and assessment practices
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills
    • Experience integrating technology into instruction
