Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequencing, durations, and resource allocation for engineering capital projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to gather schedule inputs and updates.
- Monitor project progress regularly and update schedules to reflect current project status.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate schedule risks, delays, and potential impacts, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Perform critical path analysis and provide schedule forecasts and trend analysis to support project decision-making.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations summarizing schedule status for stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ensure schedule compliance with project management standards, client requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Support the integration of schedules across multiple projects within the capital portfolio.
- Utilize scheduling software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) effectively to manage complex project data.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
- Pilot and implement AI-powered scheduling software to optimize project timelines, enhance predictive accuracy, and proactively de-risk project schedules.
- Evaluate AI-driven insights for continuous improvement in schedule management and risk mitigation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience scheduling complex engineering capital projects, preferably in heavy industry, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Experience with or willingness to pilot AI-powered scheduling tools is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, earned value management (EVM), and critical path method (CPM) scheduling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex scheduling information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction processes, procurement cycles, and capital project lifecycles is highly desirable.
- PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
