Description

Position:          Accounting Assistant

FLSA:                Non-Exempt/Hourly

Location:         2252 N. Broadway

                          Moore, Oklahoma 73160

Hours:              Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (occasional overtime may be required)

 

General Purpose: To efficiently assist the accounting department by matching purchase orders to invoices, marking checks paid and tracking contractor information.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager and Assistant Accounting Manager

Supervision Exercised: None

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately match PO’s to invoices
  • Marks checks paid
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors
  • Verify accuracy of information
  • Enter data into system and prints checks
  • Filing and scanning bills and documents
  • Assist in balancing bank statements
  • Review vendor statements 
  • Run misc. errands including driving mail to post office, bank runs, pick-up permits, as needed
  •  Present recommendations to Senior Accounting Manager
  • Ensures all processes and procedures are completed
  • Assist in covering receptionist desk during peak times
  • Assists in other duties as directed
  • Maintain confidentiality of office practices
  • Attends all staff meetings
  • Responsible for keeping office area clean
  • Maintain logs of activities and completed work
  • Maintain vendor/contractor insurance files

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  •       High school diploma or GED
  •       1 – 6 months of work related administrative experience
  •       Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
  •       Reliable transportation for occasional errands (with mileage reimbursement)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: 

  • Knowledge of general office practices
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to compile and analyze data
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good Attendance and punctuality is mandatory
  • Willingness to be a member of a dedicated team
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology

 

Work Environment: Climate-controlled office environment. Noise level moderately quiet. 

 

Physical Demands: Occasionally required to sit and use their fingers, to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel. Must be able to carry equipment up to 30 lbs. Subject to driving to various locations in varying weather conditions.  Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
