Service and Repair Apprentice Technician

CSI is looking to hire an analytical and people-oriented individual for the Apprentice Electrician position. The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for installing electrical systems for food, dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical processing skids. This role works closely with Engineering, Project Managers, and shop teams to support fabrication projects, assist with design adjustments, and ensure electrical systems are installed accurately and efficiently.
This position requires strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously. The Apprentice Electrician may also assist with troubleshooting, testing, and supporting outside subcontractors when needed.

Salary: $18 - $28 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Install electrical conduit and wiring for skid-mounted process equipment.
Perform conduit routing, bending, and installation for industrial systems.
Complete skid wiring including wire pulling, terminations, labeling, and installation.
Assist the CAD department with planning electrical equipment layout and conduit routing.
Wire instruments, control systems, and motors for industrial applications.
Work with control panels and electrical components operating at 24VDC, 120VAC, 208�230V 3-phase, and 480V 3-phase.
Retrieve and review equipment manuals to ensure proper wiring and installation.
Update electrical drawings including as-built drawings and panel layouts.
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with Controls Engineers.
Troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose electrical components including wiring, VFDs, pumps, and instrumentation.
Provide technical support to shop crews and project teams.
Communicate project progress with Project Managers.
Maintain accurate documentation for job costing and billing.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Enter time and project activity into company systems.
Required Qualifications
Education & Training
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of recent full-time experience in the electrical trade
Valid driver�s license
Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, or database software)
Preferred Technical Experience
Industrial electrical installation up to 480V 3-phase
PLC control system wiring
Industrial communication networks including:
Discrete and analog systems
AS-i, DeviceNet, and Profibus
VFDs and 3-phase motor wiring
Conduit installation in hazardous classified locations
Physical Requirements
This role involves hands-on electrical work in a manufacturing environment and requires:
Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping
Lifting and moving items up to 75 lbs with assistance
Working in environments with temperature variations, dust, and noise
Use of power tools and electrical testing equipment
Wearing required PPE including gloves, safety glasses, harnesses, and steel-toe footwear
Work Schedule
The typical schedule is 40 hours per week, though overtime is common depending on production needs. Work hours may fluctuate, and occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Overtime opportunities may be available but are not guaranteed.
