About the GUIDE Program



The GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) program is a new pilot initiative at Andwell designed to enhance the quality of life for both individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. Through this program, Andwell provides structured respite care and support that allows caregivers time to rest, recharge, and continue providing care at home with confidence and peace of mind.



As a Dementia Respite PSS, you’ll play a key role in the success of the GUIDE program—offering compassionate, specialized care and meaningful companionship during 4-hour respite visits designed to meet the unique needs of each participant and their family.



 



What You’ll Do



Provide dementia-informed caregiving, companionship, and support to clients in their homes, such as:




  • Engaging in meaningful activities (reading, games, conversation, walks)

  • Supporting personal care and hygiene

  • Assisting with mobility

  • Providing emotional support and reassurance

  • Supporting caregivers by offering respite through scheduled visits



 



What You’ll Bring




  • Certified Personal Support Specialist (PSS) credential (required)

  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

  • Compassionate, patient, and caring demeanor

  • Interest in helping people live healthier, happier, and more connected lives
