The RNG HAZMAT Driver will provide extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership for the safe transportation of all natural gas products & projects. The role will be to operate and maintain equipment, support LNG and CNG delivery, and ensure overall project success while providing top-level customer service and leadership in the field. This position will report directly to the Director of Transportation.
The route information for the RNG HAZMAT Driver will be approximately 200-300 mile round trip. The RNG Driver will be driving a day cab trailer that will be either a CNG or a Diesel truck. The driver should be home every night and potentially stay out one night should something arise.
The RNG HAZMAT Driver must be local to Turlock, CA or Denair, CA or Atwater, CA or Merced, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operating company equipment associated with the delivering, loading, and off-loading of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas).
- Safely deliver a load of natural gas every other day (approx. 300-350 mile round trip per delivery) to a customer site location.
- Understand applications and limitations of company equipment
- Participate in pre-job planning and implementation activities as required
- Set up and move equipment to and around project locations
- Able to identify potential issues with company equipment as well as able to identify other issues during pre/post trip inspections
- Properly report equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to equipment
- Operate mid to heavy-duty vehicles alone combined with trailers
- Secure cargo for transportation using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords, and ratchets
- Adequately document daily activities including hours of service, fuel tracking, and all DOT regulations
- Understand and ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures and policies
- Have a sound understanding of DOT regulations, internal policies, government safety, and regulatory standards, and ensure these policies and standards are applied to daily activities and job sites
- Maintain a clean environment inside and outside of the assigned vehicle
- Perform other duties as assigned
