Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated Production Control Co-op to join our Oxnard operations team and gain hands-on experience optimizing manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and production scheduling. This role offers practical exposure to how technology and data-driven decision-making directly impact business efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules using ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor work orders and coordinate with manufacturing teams to meet delivery commitments
- Track production progress and identify potential bottlenecks or delays
- Generate daily/weekly production reports and KPI dashboards
- Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives with data-driven insights
- Communicate schedule changes, priorities and constraints to stakeholders across departments
- Participate in production meetings and capacity planning discussions
- Work with quality and engineering teams on process improvements
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related degree program
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
- Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, macros)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and production flow optimization
- Comfortable learning new software and digital tools quickly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Team player with initiative and adaptability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing or operations experience is an asset
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, CostPoint)
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms
