Job Description

The Temporary Communications Associate Director works with the Outreach and Assimilation Lead Director to oversee, implement, and innovate the communications effort and membership mobilization initiative of the Troy campus. This role ensures effective communication that conveys the happenings of the church in an engaging matter and aligns with the vision for the campus communication efforts as detailed by the Outreach and Assimilation Lead Director. The Temporary Communications Associate Director ensures effective membership engagement by creating cross-ministry strategies for integration, training, encouragement, retention, and development.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with prior church ministry experience highly desired.
  • Demonstrated character and reputation with a commitment to spiritual health and integrity.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to engage church members and the at large community through various communication platforms (e.g. email, social media, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven ability to create and edit engaging and creative communication content (e.g. written content, graphics, photo/video, etc.).


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Outreach and Assimilation Lead Director on execution of communication efforts of the Troy campus that encompasses social media, church-wide email campaigns, ministerial specific emails, and Sunday host opportunities.
  • Under the direction of the Outreach and Assimilation Lead Director, oversees and executes a social media strategy for all viable platforms for the Troy campus (currently Instagram and Facebook).
  • Creates necessary support materials (e.g. content, photo, graphic, video) for communication content (e.g. email, social media, main worship slide, etc.) as needed.
  • Coordinates volunteers and helps to guide them through ministry photo opportunities. 
  • Responsible for the Stories vitals metric – gathering and sharing stories of what God is doing in and through the specific ministries of the Troy campus.
  • Generates increased awareness of church engagement opportunities (i.e. serve opportunities, events, missions, holidays, etc.) to enhance connectedness and spiritual growth.


This will be a full-time temporary position, approx. mid-May through August.
