Job Summary:

Responsible for evaluating and configuring manufacturing systems to improve efficiency, quality, sustainability, reduce cost, and develop best practices within the production process.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops innovative manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
  • Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes
  • Estimating production costs
  • Project-based working closely with Production, Quality & Maintenance departments
  • Responsible for developing procedures and checklists
  • Assist Plant Engineering Department as needed to design, develop, and procure New Plant Equipment

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 Maintains product and process data base by utilizing computer programs, entering data.

 

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

  • Results-Oriented problem solver in an ever-changing environment with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong in Lean Manufacturing procedures
  • Strong follow-up skills; detail-oriented
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Strong Computer Skills: Solid works or AutoCAD; CAD/CAM; Excel; SAP

 

 

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or similar field with the equivalent in experience and training
  • Prefer 3 years minimum work experience in manufacturing /operations
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently or in teams with little supervision

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.
