What You Bring to the Table:

Summary/Objective:
North Shore Health is seeking a
seasoned and forward-thinking clinical leader to serve as our Vice President of
Success (Clinical). As a key member of our clinical support leadership team,
this role provides strategic oversight and guidance to Directors of Nursing
(DONs), Executive Directors (EDs), and interdisciplinary teams—ensuring the
consistent delivery of high-quality care, strong clinical outcomes, and ongoing
regulatory compliance across our skilled nursing and post-acute care centers.
The VP of
Success (Clinical) plays a critical role in driving quality initiatives,
mentoring field leaders, and enhancing care delivery systems. The role
requires, excellent interpersonal skills, and a data-informed mindset that
aligns with North Shore Health’s mission, values, and commitment to clinical
excellence.
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse
(RN) with deep experience in skilled nursing facility (SNF) operations,
clinical performance improvement, and survey readiness.
Essential Functions:

- Provide
clinical leadership and oversight for assigned centers to ensure the highest
levels of resident care, quality measures, and regulatory compliance. - Maintain
visibility into key operational metrics such as labor usage, staffing levels,
open positions, agency utilization, and overtime to support clinical and
operational success. - Conduct
regular center visits to observe clinical operations, assess staff performance,
identify areas for improvement, and engage with residents, families, and staff. - Serve as
first-line clinical support for center-level leadership, including Executive
Directors and Directors of Nursing, offering coaching and problem-solving
assistance on complex issues. - Set, monitor,
and enforce performance and outcome standards for clinical functions including
documentation, staffing levels, policies, procedures, and systems of care. - Monitor and
audit clinical systems and compliance with internal standards and external
regulations, initiating corrective action plans where necessary. - Collaborate
with Operations and Support Center team members in joint decision-making,
including budget planning, strategic initiatives, and resource allocation. - Working in
conjunction with appropriate Support Center personnel and Operations team
members, support centers in developing and maintaining effective staffing
strategies, including recruitment, retention, and use of labor management tools
to control costs while maintaining quality care, - Analyze
clinical and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for
improvement, and lead corresponding action plans. - Oversee
development and implementation of new clinical systems or improvements to
current systems that enhance care delivery and efficiency. - Lead or
participate in functional work groups aimed at process improvement, education,
and sharing of best practices across the organization. - Manage
escalated concerns or complaints from residents, families, or staff when not
resolved at the center level. - Maintain
active knowledge of regulations and trends; ensure assigned centers adapt
policies and practices accordingly. - Serve as an
interim clinical leader at center(s) as needed during vacancies or transitional
periods. - Monitor and
assist with orientation and onboarding process for new center leaders,
particularly Directors of Nursing and Assistant Directors of Nurses. - Assist in
identification and dissemination of best practices, ensuring alignment with
North Shore Health’s clinical vision and strategy. - Foster
strong, collaborative relationships with other divisions—including North Shore
Home Health, and Hospice services—to ensure integrated, system-wide alignment
and the delivery of cohesive, high-quality care across the continuum. - Ensure that
clinical and operational activities align with North Shore Health’s Compliance
Program, HIPAA regulations, and resident rights. - Attend and
actively participate in relevant meetings, trainings, and committees as
assigned.

complete assigned tasks - Report all
suspected violations of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to North Shore
Health Compliance Department.
Work
Environment/Physical Requirements
The
responsibilities of this position may involve significant travel and physical
activities including standing, occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted),
bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting. All employees when visiting centers may be
required to provide lifting and transfer assistance to residents. Lifting and/or transferring some residents
will require use of a lifting device and /or assistance of other staff.
Required
Education and Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) in state of
assignment - Minimum 5 years of clinical
management experience in long term care - Extensive knowledge in regulatory
requirements, nursing practice and risk mitigation - Ability to travel (including
overnight stays) - Computer
proficiency with Microsoft products - Demonstrated
leadership competency - Ability to
travel to multi-state facilities - Polished
communication and presentation skills
