JOB DESCRIPTION







Job Title:Radiologic Technologist




Location:Women's Imaging Center




Division/Dept.:RIS & LRH IMAGING




Reports To:Office Supervisor




Type of Shift:Full Time











JOB SUMMARY







 The Radiologic Technologist performs Bone Density procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining a high
level of customer service and quality patient care. Responsibilities include performing Bone Density procedures
following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient 
satisfaction. 












JOB RESPONSIBILITIES







1. Performs Bone Density exams following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently performs 
procedures with limited supervision.











2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring
providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure.








3. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes
responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort.











4. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any 
equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider.









5. Performs other duties as assigned.











6. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. Promotes
teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement.







7. Maintains credentials for position.











WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS







2 or more years in the Radiography field is preferred.











High School Diploma or GED.











Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists.












Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida
Department of Health. Additional mammography certification is a plus.









SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS







Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills are preferred.











Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, 
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.







This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or 
without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting 
50 plus pounds.
