Job Description

**Requires a 45-minute callback** 

Shift: 0830 - 1700 Monday - Friday with call.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assessing, formulating plan of care, implementing and evaluating nursing care for assigned patient population. Is a leader and collaborates with the healthcare team to promote a world class environment.

Definition of Shared Governance: Shared governance is a professional structural model, founded on the cornerstone principles of partnership, equity, accountability, and ownership that form a culturally sensitive and empowering framework, enabling sustainable and accountability-based decisions to support an interdisciplinary design for excellent patient care.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality care and safe outcomes.  The nurse will exercise their autonomy when needed to make decisions in the best interest of the patient.
  2. Education and implementation of the patient's plan of care will be shared with the patient and the family.
  3. Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary departments to coordinate the appropriate care for the endoscopy patients in the most efficient and highest quality manner.
  4. Follow all relevant specialty, federal recommendations and hospital policies and procedures, when caring for the patient and performing other tasks.
  5. Participate in perioperative services nursing and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities and Unit Based Council. 
  6. Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
  7. Pursue lifelong education, by staying current on professional changes and best practices within the health care system.
  8. Be responsible for your FTE hours.
  9. Maintain financial responsibility in helping to stay within the unit's budget.
  10. Provide education and be a resource to other staff members, students, and new orientees.
     

Secondary Job Duties:
 

  1. Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
 

Education -- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.  Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. 

Experience -- Graduate of RN Program
