    Description/Requirements
    We are looking for a compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher with a focus on serving students with Emotional or Behaviorial Disorders (EBD). The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the unique learning needs of students with EBD and demonstrate the ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team and other stakeholders.
    • Provide differentiated instruction and support to meet the diverse academic, social/emotional and functional needs of students.
    • Create and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
    • Utilize evidence-based practices and instructional strategies tailored to the needs of students
    • Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure accommodations and modifications are being implemented through lessons, activities, assignments, and tests.
    • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to facilitate growth and achievement.
    • Provide clear direction and responsibilities to paraprofessionals
    • Foster a culture of respect, understanding, and acceptance among students, promoting empathy and inclusivity.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with disabilities.

    $47,399 - $97,149 dependent on qualifications

    Benefits:

    Bargaining Unit:  Education Minnesota - Rockford , Master Agreement - Rockford

    Medical

    • Single Coverage - District pays $869 toward premium
    • Family Coverage - District pays $1620 toward premium
    • District contributes $1,000 into HSA - if enrolled in high deductible plan
    • Dental - $53 pays toward Single coverage
    • Flexible Spending Acct:  Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts

      Retirement:

    • The District contributes 9.81% of your total salary in the Teachers Retirement Association pension plan
    • Employees may also elect to participate in Deferred Compensation Plan once continuing rights granted
    • Dental:  Single coverage - District pays sum that covers premium for employee only

      Life Insurance:  District provides $60,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance

      Long Term Disability:  District provided at no cost to the employee
