What You'll Be Responsible For

As an Accounting Advisory Manager focused on New Client Onboarding, you will lead the process of transitioning new clients into our accounting ecosystem. You will oversee onboarding project execution, ensure financial data accuracy, and design scalable workflows that set clients up for long-term success. Your technical proficiency, operational mindset, and client communication skills will be key to building a seamless and high-quality onboarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the new client onboarding process, from discovery to successful transition into ongoing service.

  • Serve as the primary client contact during onboarding�gather financial data, set expectations, conduct client meetings, communicate progress clearly and proactively, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

  • Develop and document standardized / client-specific workflows and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability in onboarding operations.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Sales, Accounting Recurring Service Team, Tax, and Operations) to ensure smooth client handoffs.

  • Providing technical accounting expertise and advisory support on complex accounting issues.

  • Build customized financial models and templates using Google Sheets to support client setup, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Streamline data migration and system setup, including integrations with platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp, Gusto, and other accounting tools.

  • Implement workflow automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • Conduct quality checks on client financial records during onboarding to ensure accuracy and completeness before handoff to the accounting team.

  • Create and maintain onboarding documentation and client training resources to enhance knowledge sharing.

  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes through technology, documentation, and client feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.

Daily Tools

  • Accounting & Merchant Platforms: QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Xero, Netsuite (a plus), Bill.com, Ramp, Divvy, ADP, Gusto, Synder, Stripe, Paypal, Shopify, Amazon�

  • Workflow & Automation: Keeper, Zapier, 1Password

  • Project Management & Communication: Front, Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Excel

Requirements

  • Bachelor�s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CMA preferred).

  • 7+ years of accounting firm experience with at least 3 years in client-facing or implementation/project management roles.

  • Proven experience managing accounting system setup, data migration, or onboarding projects for US-based clients, various industries such as E-commerce, SaaS, Professional Services, Nonprofits, Restaurant, etc.

  • Strong technical skills in QuickBooks, Xero, Google Sheets modeling (important), and automation tools.

  • Deep understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills�able to manage multiple concurrent onboarding projects.

  • Exceptional client communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience in workflow documentation and process design.

  • Experience working with remote or distributed teams is a plus.

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000

Benefits:

  • Eligibility: Benefits begin the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment.

  • Company-Paid Benefits: Basic Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability.

  • 401K: Available after 6 months of employment with a company match and vesting schedule.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Varies for Non-Managers and Managers, along with paid sick time, bereavement leave, and paid company holidays.

Work Location: Remote

Standard Operating Hours: 9:00-5:00pm EST

Remote Work: If you are a remote employee, you are only authorized to work from one of the approved states listed. Working while traveling to other states or countries is not permitted.

Employment Type: full-time, exempt
