Premier Fire & Security, an APi Group Life Safety USA company, has an opening for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Fire Alarm Project Manager. This position will work from our Paducah KY office.
Premier Fire & Security has over 50 years experience in the fire suppression industry and has expanded its footprint to serve customers throughout the Southeast. We offer a range of services including: fire sprinkler systems, security systems, fire alarm and detection systems, special hazards systems, voice data systems and fire extinguisher products.
The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
- Actively manage project work adhering to the documented Low Voltage process, standards and scheduling.
- Serve as an active and participating member of collaborations surrounding LV processes and standards.
- Serve as a visible leader, supporting peer Project Managers and design team, leading by example.
- Review and thoroughly understand company contractual rights, subcontract liabilities and responsibilities for assigned Project Work.
- Provide leadership to the team, resolve issues and solve problems that arise throughout the duration of the project for assigned work.
- Manage oversight of the project team and maintain project requirements for safety, quality, productivity to ensure they are maintained throughout the duration of the project for assigned work.
- Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Monitor staff performance and work with functional leaders (Technical leader, Engineering Leader, Logistics Manager) to ensure assigned work is completed.
- Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables.
- Manage and monitor total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with budget, quality and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
- Maintain subject matter expertise and serve as a support function within the team.
- Work with and support estimating reviews to ensure estimates are properly priced and adequate scope coverage for assigned work.
- Demonstrate expertise in project scheduling, manpower spend and overall workflow planning.
- Approve invoices, prepare and issues purchase orders for assigned projects.
- Provide complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage for assigned projects.
- Responsible for validating the engineering recommendation on the specification and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options etc.
- Document work by maintaining files for each job on company network and cloud-based site.
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
- Lead with a safety and quality first mindset.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of low voltage systems and MEP expertise in commercial, industrial and health care spaces.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Experience in project management of fire alarmand mass notification projects and/or commercial and federal construction projects.
- Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
- 5 Years + Experience in the construction, fire alarm, low voltage field.
- NICET Certification is a plus
