TITLE: AHS Cosmetology Instructor, part-time contract
DEFINITION:
For the 26-27 school year this will be a 35% teacher contract for instruction of 2 classes of Intro to Cosmetology. This contract will end as of May 31, 2027. AHS is working to build a cosmetology program under CTE guidelines and will determine program needs for 27-28 at a later date. This teacher will introduce students to the basic theory and provide hands-on practice at the introductory level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. The teacher must be appropriately CTE certified and/or licensed as a teacher in the State of Colorado as provided by law.
2. Licensed staff must be qualified for the area or grade level in which they perform, meeting Colorado Department of Education accreditation standards. Ready endorsement preferred.

JOB GOAL:
To facilitate learning by all students, in a standards-based classroom and other educational environments, that will promote higher levels of student achievement by providing an environment conducive to learning that upholds the ideals of collaboration to ensure the highest levels of professionalism. To promote Cosmetology as a career pathway with a goal of certification for students as they progress through the program.
