    Learning Behavior Specialist:

    Reports To:  Principal and Director of Student Services

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist I endorsement.

      Essential Responsibilities and Performance Expectations:

       Assessment
    • demonstrates knowledge of formal and informal assessment procedures
    • conducts ongoing assessment of instructional goals and objectives
    • reports assessment data in a clear and concise manner

      Provision of Instructional Services
    • develops individualized goals and objectives based on assessment results
    • provides long-range student planning
    • facilitates integrated education programming, including co-teaching
    • demonstrates an understanding of a variety of disabilities
    • selects, prepares and/or adapts materials to meet individual student needs
    • demonstrates effective individual, group, and classroom behavior management techniques

      Case Management
    • monitors implementation of student I.E.P.'s
    • gathers, monitors, and completes of all pupil data surrounding staffings, case studies, and annual reviews
    • manages and coordinates required paperwork for meetings/conferences
    • trains, supervises and assists in the evaluation of paraprofessionals (when applicable)

       Communication/Collaboration
    • demonstrates collaborative problem-solving
    • communicates and interacts in an effective, constructive and positive manner with staff, administrators, students and parents

      Professional Responsibilities:
    • follows policies and procedures of the district
    • demonstrates knowledge of special education legislation and acts in accordance with these mandates
    • demonstrates knowledge in the field including current issues and trends
    • participates in professional growth activities
    • performs other duties as assigned

    Salary:
    Please refer to the Park View Council of Teachers Contract for the salary schedule.
