About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Special Procedures Tech to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the Special Procedures Tech, you will assist Physicians performing surgical radiographic procedures efficiently utilizing various techniques (Large C-arm operation, Mini C-arm operation, sterile technique & processing CR films) at a technical level that requires independent judgment.
What You’ll Do
- Special Procedure Technologists properly position the patients and operate and manipulate the equipment to ensure that usable scans and images are produced in the surgical setting.
- Monitors safe radiation practices during procedures for the staff and patients (Shielding, ALARA)
- Responsible for following Surgical Center and Imaging Department policies and procedures and completing all competencies, along with providing outstanding customer service.
- Verifies all pertinent orders, ensures proper patient safety and preparation for procedures.
- Prepares equipment and patients for pain management procedures, including sterile tray and sterile patient preparation.
- Provides direct patient care within the patient care area and notifies a clinical staff member if patient condition changes.
- Assists with routine stocking and maintenance of procedural rooms and patient care areas.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
- Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
- Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community
What You Bring
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology and licensed by NYS.
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to providing patient-first, high-quality service
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
