The Junior Project Controls Analyst supports project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting functions across construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, schedulers, and cost engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to develop expertise in project controls systems and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather information necessary for developing and updating schedules.
  • Help maintain documentation related to schedule changes and updates.
  • Support project controls functions by monitoring project timelines and milestones.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on schedule status and potential impacts.
  • Assist in identifying scheduling risks and documenting any issues that may affect the project timeline.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of cost baselines.
  • Monitor and report on project budget performance.
  • Review cost reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Evaluate cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to support project decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project controls (internships acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of scheduling and cost control principles
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables; Power BI is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Compensation: The base salary rate being offered for this position is USD $80,000.00 per year to USD $100,00.00 per year. Please note that the salary range listed is specific to the role listed in California. Salary rates may vary for different individuals in the same role based on various factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, and performance.
