– The Senior Internal Auditor position is responsible for examining and evaluating processes, systems and activities as needed to support the Internal Audit Department in its efforts to achieve the strategic goals of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi (the Company).  Through this support, the Staff Auditor assists in performing ongoing control testing and make recommendations for efficiency, to improve quality, enhance the control structure, and improve the Company’s overall control and risk management functions.  Routine responsibilities will include performing audit program steps, drafting reports and communicating audit results.  The position will also conduct special projects as required.

Job-Specific Requirements:

  • A BS or BA in Accounting, Information Systems or any other business degree which provides a course of study complementing auditing
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent measure)
  • Incumbent will be expected to become proficient in knowledge of IIA, ISACA and GAAS standards
  • Willingness to pursue an auditing designation, preferably CIA or CISA
  • PC word processing and spreadsheet skills are required; also, database and flowcharting experience is preferred
