We're hiring an experienced Account Manager in Visalia, CA (hybrid) to serve as the right hand to our crop insurance agents — building grower relationships, coordinating with underwriters, and keeping a shared book of business running smoothly.
Description
At Insure.ag, we’re building a modern crop insurance agency where every grower feels like the only grower. We pair old-school service with cutting-edge technology, and we believe the best agents in this business are the ones with strong support behind them.
That’s where you come in. As an Account Manager, you’re the right hand to our agents — the person growers know they can call when their agent is in the field, the one underwriters trust to get the details right, and the operational engine that keeps a book of business running smoothly.
About the role
Our Account Managers wear two hats: relationship builder and operational backbone. You’ll support a shared book of business across our agents, getting to know growers, helping shape policies, and making sure every piece of the puzzle is in place — from data compilation to underwriter coordination to claims handling. This role reports to our Manager of Agency Operations.
What you’ll own
Customer relationships and policy strategy:
• Act as the second point of contact for customers when their agent is unavailable
• Take claim calls from customers and opening claims in AIP systems
• Join grower meetings alongside agents to develop and deepen relationships
• Reach out to customers for missing information, documents, and clarifying questions
• Quote and prepare estimates
Underwriter and policy coordination:
• Compile data for written agreements
• Serve as first point of contact with underwriters and work to clear any policy issues
Operational backbone:
• Key into AIP systems
• Track policy status and deadlines
• Validate policy documents for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized client files
Knowledge and expertise:
• Build and maintain solid knowledge of policies, crops, and insurance strategy
• Stay current on RMA requirements, state regulations, and carrier guidelines
What you bring
Must-haves:
• 1–3 years of experience in crop insurance — or a related field where you’ve worked with growers, ag operations, specialty insurance, or ag lending
• An active Property & Casualty Insurance License in California
• Strong customer-facing instincts — you know how to build trust quickly
• Comfort working with underwriters and navigating policy details
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace
• Generally tech-savvy and excited to learn new systems, especially interested in AI
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup with both in-person and remote coworkers
Nice-to-haves:
• Direct experience with AIP systems, SOIs, PAW data, or crop insurance underwriting
• Experience utilizing AI systems to enhance your workflows
• Existing relationships in the California specialty crop community
Where you’ll work
Visalia, CA. This is a hybrid role — in-office 3–5 days per week.
Compensation & benefits
$85,000-110,000 base salary + generous annual bonus potential
Beyond pay, we offer:
• Unlimited PTO (with team coordination)
• 401(k) retirement plan + 4% company match
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Disability coverage and basic life insurance
