Job Description
We are running our Monday program for English language learners and Spanish speakers again this year. This program is open to Garfield 16 students in grades K-8.
The program will have a few enhancements:
It is open to students who a native Spanish speakers so they can develop the literacy skills in reading and writing.
It is now open to English language learners to reinforce their English acquisition.
Both groups of students will have a cultural component where they learn about the countries and cultures where Spanish is the predominant language.
The goal for this program is for our bilingual students to develop complete biliteracy in English and Spanish.
We are looking for the following staff:
A teacher who is fluent in Spanish ($35 per hour)
Paraprofessionals who speak Spanish ($19 per hour)
Possible one-on-one paraprofessionals ($21 per hour)
Student interns who speak Spanish ($16 per hour)
A teacher with the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse endorsement ($35 per hour)
A health/attendance clerk (regular rate)
The program will be at the high school. Staff hours are 8:30-3:30. Student hours are 9:00-3:00.
The program will run on the following Mondays:
September 22 & 29
October 6, 13 & 27
November 10
December 1 & 8
January 5 & 26
February 2 & 23
March 16 & 30
April 13 & 27
