Production Manager Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations in our manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensure efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting delivery deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing workflows, ability and willingness to be hands on and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage production schedules based on weekly demand created by plant leadership.

· Communicate to supervisors, team leads, and operators daily, weekly, monthly production goals

· Emphasize organizational structure on the manufacturing floor and set clear expectations for each team and operator

· Supervise production staff and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

· Monitor production processes and adjust schedules or resources as needed.

· Implement process improvements to boost efficiency of each operator and cell that fall within responsibility

· Coordinate with other production areas to ensure proper flow of information, materials, and finished product

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Train and motivate team members to achieve performance goals.

· Report on production metrics and suggest improvements to plant management.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

· 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management.

· Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.

· Experience in fabrication, coatings, electro-mechanical assembly, complex assembly or integration

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to spend majority of time on the manufacturing floor

Preferred Skills

· Certification in project management or process improvement (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma).

· Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools.

· Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance.
