Position Title: Outside Services Lead
Reports to: Outside Services Manager
Supervises: Cart Attendants
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Job Summary
This role serves as the on-shift leader when management is not present and helps ensure the club’s service standards, operational procedures, and member experience expectations are consistently upheld. The Outside Services Lead plays a key role in coordinating daily activities, guiding team members, and maintaining a professional, organized, and service-focused golf operation. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead peers while delivering exceptional hospitality to members and guests.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership
- Provide on-shift leadership and direction to the Outside Services team
- Assign daily staff positions including bag drop, range operations, and cart staging
- Model professionalism, urgency, and service excellence
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to team members
- Help maintain a positive and accountable team culture
Daily Operations
- Review the tee sheet and anticipate daily operational needs
- Coordinate with Golf Shop staff regarding events, tournaments, or group play
- Complete and oversee daily operational checklists
- Adjust priorities and staff assignments based on pace of play and volume
- Identify and address operational issues before they impact the member experience
Member & Guest Experience
- Ensure a welcoming and seamless arrival and departure experience for members and guests
- Oversee bag drop operations, cart staging, and club handling
- Respond to member requests and concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Serve as a primary operational contact when management is not present
Facility & Course Support
- Oversee daily range operations including ball collection, setup, and presentation
- Ensure on-course stations (sand, water, ice) are properly stocked and maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at bag drop, cart staging, and practice areas
- Monitor supplies and overall presentation of outside service areas
Cart Fleet & Equipment Management
- Ensure golf carts are cleaned, charged, and properly staged for play
- Remove damaged or underperforming carts from service and report maintenance needs
- Maintain the quality and appearance of carts and club equipment
Training & Standards
- Assist in onboarding and training new Outside Services team members
- Reinforce service standards and operational procedures
- Promote consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail across the team
- Ensure established club policies and operating procedures are followed
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Golf course experience preferred.
- Requires basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift golf bags up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
