Job Description

Federated Co-ops, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Finance Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations while delivering actionable insights on business performance. This Finance Specialist role blends traditional accounting responsibilities with data analysis, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems, and business strategy.

This is an onsite, in-person position working out of our Princeton, MN Main Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Specialist: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  

Accounting & Finance Operations

  • Perform daily accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures 
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies and internal controls 
  • Support audits and financial reporting requirements 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial and operational dashboards 
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends across the business 
  • Produce regular reports on revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow 
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements 
  • Partner with leadership to provide data-driven insights for decision-making 

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Work with ERP/accounting systems and data tools to streamline workflows 
  • Automate reporting and improve data accuracy where possible 
  • Maintain data integrity across financial and operational systems
