Job Description

The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose.  We are looking for a Case Manager- Mental Health Professional-Crisis Care Counselor Mobile- Lead who exemplifies that mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference.

Schedule: 6:00 pm-6:00 am Sat, Monday, Tuesday & every other Friday

What you will be doing?

  • Providing crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support and suicide risk assessment to callers in crisis via phone through AID’s 24/7 crisis line.
  • Manage and assess incoming Mobile Crisis referrals from 988, local police departments, and other community services via phone through AID’s 24/7 crisis line.  
  • Provide in-person Mobile Crisis Response with a recovery support specialist anywhere in Kendall and Southern Kane County when a person is experiencing a mental health crisis that cannot be de-escalated over the phone.  
  • Complete in-person assessments to determine suicide risk, level of care need, and access to support. Work with the person in crisis and their collaterals to complete a safety plan.  
  • Collaborate with a team of service providers within AID and throughout the social service community to ensure that all client’s needs are being met to promote and maintain community stabilization.  
  • Maintain documentation required for crisis intervention services provided on the phone and in the community 
  • Provide supervision and support to all recovery support staff to ensure maintenance of CRSS certification process. 
  • Assist Program manager with carrying out day to day operations of the program as necessary including but not limited to, staff training, administrative responsibilities, case management and community relations 
  • Assist with providing supervision and support to all Crisis Care System staff when providing crisis intervention on the phone and in the community.
