Position Overview:



The Research and Development Food Scientist is expected to serve as a technical services consultant, developing and supporting the commercialization of new products from the conception stage through first production.



The qualified individual should have a strong knowledge of food science and product development, and a good understanding of how ingredients interact with one another. Good attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Provide technical advice to support the commercialization of new products.

  • Make bench samples with new and existing formulations within customer parameters and capabilities of the plants.

  • Support, plan, and lead plant trials of new products and first productions, managing and collaborating with customers regarding expectations and results, and coordinating as necessary with internal team members.

  • Oversee the shipping of bench, finished goods, and raw material samples internally and to customers as required.

  • Ensure that active finished good production specification documents are created and updated.

  • Manage the change controls of new raw materials.

  • Provide educated information to the team as required.

  • Support multiple plants as requested for varying needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
