Job Description

Event Security Part-time / Evening and weekends availability required 

  Multiple venue locations: 

  • United Center
  • Rate Field

General Responsibilities: 

Responsible for the safety and security of each guest at events held at the United Center & Rate Field 

Demonstrated Skills:  

  • Active member of the police force or retired in good standing
  • Flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hours
  • Average work hours will total 20 hours per week
  • Must be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of people
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and decision-making ability
  • Ability to sit or walk up to 2/3 of the work shift

Specific Duties:  

  • Promote a family atmosphere, guest enjoyment, and safety
  • Visual search of guests and guests’ bags for prohibited items prior to admittance into facilities
  • Respond to the exterior and interior radio calls
  • Check credentials in restricted-access areas
  • Monitor concourses and keep aisles and emergency exits clear at all times
  • Have complete knowledge of all facility policies and services
  • Be aware of safety hazards and report them appropriately
  • Assist guests with ticket problems such as duplicate, unreadable, wrong date, and/or lost/stolen tickets
  • Handling guest problems/complaints and directing them to a team leader or Guest Relations Booth if unable to accommodate
  • Documenting and reporting all unsafe and unpresentable circumstances within the work area.
  • Miscellaneous operational (day of the event) duties as directed

Qualifications:   

  • Active member of the police force or retired in good standing
  • High School Diploma or equivalent background
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours
  • Must be able to fully perform the essential functions of the job
  • Must be punctual and able to comply with attendance standards
  • Must have strong people skills and the ability to make firm decisions.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds up to 1/3 of the work shift

Additional information:   

  • Pay Rate = $31.50 per hour
  • The individual may be required to sit or walk up to 2/3 of the work shift
  • The individual may also be required to use their hands, stoop, kneel or reach with their hands up to 1/3 of the work shift
  • The individual may also be required to lift up to 10 pounds up to 1/3 of the work shift
