Role Summary:
Reporting to the Services Leader, the QA Software Tester is responsible for testing (verification and validation) of our next generation of products.
Responsibilities:
- Work as an integral part of the services team to ensure high quality and timely delivery of projects.
- Participate in the implementation of procedures and methodologies to improve the quality of the configured build (Test Cases, Automated Testing) while reducing the amount of testing time required
- Working with other members of the team to review existing processes and streamline to produce simplified more scalable methods of delivery
- Design, develop and execute test plans, test cases and automated tests.
- Record, monitor and maintain the data in the defect tracking tool for consistency and quality
- Ensuring all tasks/projects are completed on time whilst ensuring comprehensive attention to detail
- Provide test estimates for upcoming projects
- Ability to switch between projects whilst maintaining the same attention to detail as if working on one project
- Working in a fast-paced environment and dealing effectively with last minute internal/external requests
- Support Service Centre in investigation of technical and business issues with company products
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of software testing experience using various technologies, frameworks and tools
- Working knowledge of front-end and back-end testing.
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies
- Good knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL Server and/or Oracle)
- Very good understanding Oracle command line Database import and export processes
- Good understanding of DB import and export process using SQL server management studio
- Ability to create sql queries involving joins between multiple tables
- Ability to use TOAD datapoint to query database
- Ability to perform database difference comparisons using TOAD datapoint and clearly identify significant output
- Ability to use Oracle sqlplus to manipulate DB and run scripts from command line
- Familiarity with stopping and starting services on servers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven time management, organizational and follow-up skills to meet deadlines
- Abilities to effectively work and collaborate with remote colleagues
- Ability to work independently on own projects
- Quality-oriented with a passion for customer satisfaction
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills in English
