System Design Engineer - IPSE
THE ROLE:
AMD Client System Engineering team is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the IP bringup for APU. Client System Engineering team is responsible to lead whole AMD engineering team (ASIC design, BIOS, Firmware, Driver, Diag, etc.) for APU bringup, feature enablement and optimization, system level verification/stress, issue debug, and customer support.
THE PERSON:
- Technical leadership with excellent problem-solving, time-management, prioritization skills, able to lead complex problems, involving multi-disciplined, multi-functional teams.
- Persistence, quality focus, excellent collaborative skills, self-motivated and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills including English ability in oral and written
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute Pre-Si Emulation, Post-Si integration validation and feature enablement to meet program milestones
- Study latest AMD silicon and system features; understand new features in silicon, BIOS, firmware, SW etc., bring up new product.
- Working with cross function teams (Firmware, Silicon, Board Design, SW, Diag, PEO etc.) to debug / root cause the silicon/System issues , enable AMD latest features .
- Reproduce Complex issues and analyze logs/Scandamp
- Developing, Setting Up & Analyzing experiments to collect data for moving forward the debug activities.
- Drive internal debug activity by playing the role of issue coordinator when needed.
- Developing software/scripts to assist in debug and validation activities
- Create test procedures and generate technical documents as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience with PC Hardware elements either integrating, debugging and/or validating various system components (HW, BIOS, OS, Drivers, etc.), developing and debugging low level PC based applications, or validating HW components (CPU, GPU, I/O devices, Boards, etc.) used in PCs or server products
- Good knowledge of System level software, tools, operating systems, kernel drivers & UEFI FW. Chipset/processor interfaces
- Experience in ASIC or FPGA projects
- RTL/FW design experience is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS-EE / BS-CE. An advanced degree will be a plus.
- 10+ year hands on industry experience in ASIC, PC, Consumer electronics and telecom
