    Salary Range: $15.50 - $22.34 per/Hour
    Shift Type: Full-Time
    Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
    Reports To: Director - Transportation

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    • To ride bus and assist driver to provide safe and orderly transportation of all students so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantages from the district’s curriculum and extra-curricular programs.                                       
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    • Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate verbal and written instructions and responses in English
    • Must be 21 years of age
    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
    • Ability to work well with children with disabilities
    • Possess full range of motion in hands, arms and trunk
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively
    • Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment
    EXPERIENCE:
    • None
    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    • Assist in loading and unloading of students with disabilities according to their individual needs.
    • Maintain discipline and report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
    • Maintain a good working relationship with the principals and through a cooperative effort maintain a disciplined decorum on the bus that is conducive to safety and protection of property.
    • Make neat, legible, and accurate reports as required.
    • Become familiar with route to and from school campus to be of assistance to driver.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Maintaining emotional control in stressful situations
    • Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
    • Maintaining effective control over groups of students
    • Communicating effectively to parents, teachers, and bus driver
    Physical demands/environmental factors:
    • Frequently walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling
    • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
    • Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes
