Description

Primary Summary:

Originates first and second mortgages. Solicits   new mortgage business, maintains good outside working relationships, and   promotes the organizations products and services. Spends a significant amount   of time doing inside sales activities.

Essential   Functions/Position Responsibilities:

· Determine   financing objectives and goals. Conducts the loan interview and secures the member   information necessary to initiate a loan transaction. Provides loan   information and service to customers, realtors, and others as needed.

· Receives   and screens loan applications. Pulls, review and analyzes credit. Gathers   financial data. Notifies client to resolve discrepancies such as late payment   history, judgments, etc. Discusses options. Informs client of closing costs   such as appraisals, and attorney fees.

· Prepares   records and reports as requested regarding loan origination and closing   activities as needed.

· Collects   supporting loan documentation. Requests a personal employment and credit   check of the applicant, requests an appraisal on the property and/or   construction plans under consideration.

· Maintain   constant communication with clients via email, phone and mail form   application to closing and post-closing. Communicate with attorneys,   realtors, appraisers and vendors pertaining to specific client needs.

· Maintains   contacts and good working relationships with real estate brokers, attorneys,   and builders to assure a favorable image of the organization and to provide   information regarding current loan policies and procedures.

· Receives   inquiries from prospective members regarding all types of mortgage, provides   requested information regarding the organizations lending policies and   procedures.

· Must   comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and   regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot   Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


Requirements

 Experience:

One to two years of   similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.Knowledge of   Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines is required. Bi-lingual skills are a   plus.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree   preferred but experience may substitute with appropriate experience.Incumbents are   required to maintain their registration active, and current, with the   National Mortgage Licensing System throughout their employment.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of   trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in   the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with   members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive   and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day   experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating   and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills

Will be required to   work outside of scheduled hours to respond to positions issues.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms.
  • Sustains repetitive motions while using computer keyboard. Close vision for the computer screen is also required.
  • Bends, stoops, kneels, pushes and pulls while filing or moving supplies.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
